Malt-O-Meal

Every morning Savannah and I have Malt-O-Meal, sweetened with a pinch of brown sugar and diluted to drinking consistency with organic whole milk. It has been our breakfast since the days that Savannah was able to eat hot cereal. Why did I choose Malt-O-Meal, you ask. Well, our pediatrician says it's the best source of iron for kiddos. If you know me very well, you know that my nickname is "By the Book Brenda", and I'm okay with that. Our pediatrician said to avoid cold cereal for breakfasts because cold cereals don't have enough iron and too much sugar, or something like that. I just know he frowned on it and recommended hot cereal, that's all I need. So now, because Sav eats Malt-O-Meal, so do I. It will be her breakfast until she is three and then there's Luke, he's be starting his three years soon. That's six years of Malt-O-Meal for me! You're probably thinking, How Boring! We do change it up sometimes, especially on Sundays. I've made pancakes, eggs, toast with peanut butter and a touch of honey or maple syrup. We've gone out for BFs, too, McD's, IHOP, & Panera. Today is a Malt-O-Meal day and so was yesterday. Savannah drinks her from a cup/lid/straw combo. I spoon mine out of a bowl. This last week, Savannah has been finishing hers first and then asks me via sign and says the word, "More!" Yes, I get it Savannah... you are coming in loud and clear. :) So then I give her half of the rest of my Malt-O-Meal and I end up hungry post breakfast! In comes in chex mix with candycorns to satisfy since it's the Halloween season.

I better go, Savannah is trying to catapult Luke outta his bouncy chair AND he needs a diaper change before he blows out all over, and my water is boiling, ready for Malt-O-Meal and we need to leave for a playgroup that starts in 10 minutes and Savannah has no diaper on and she needs her hair combed and I need to make my list of things to get done today because I was just plain exhausted last night to do it before I went to bed.

What has happened to my life?? Whatever happened to the morning paper, a cup of coffe and pedicured toes??
